Vonda Vaughn Schmidt

Vonda Vaughn Schmidt has concentrated her practice to the area of family law for over twenty years.  She is a graduate of The John Marshall Law School (1993) and the University of Illinois (1990).   Vonda was selected by Leading Lawyers Network in 2015 and 2019 by survey of peers of Illinois’ lawyers based upon experience, reputation and legal skills in the area of Family Law. Vonda has completed the DePaul University of Chicago Center for Dispute Resolution Certificate of Professional Achievement in Family & Divorce Mediation Training.  She serves as a  court appointed mediator for the Family Law Division of the McHenry County 22nd Judicial Circuit.  Vonda has been  active in the McHenry County Bar Association for over ten years having served as the President of the Bar Association,  Vice-President of the Family Law Section, and Social Chairperson organizing events for the bar members.   She is also active in the community serving as a member of the board of Friendship House daycare facility for the last nine years.  She previously served as Vice-President of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of McHenry County, a non-profit organization dedicated to representing abused and neglected children in the McHenry County court system.
